Abstract

Continuous changes and adaptation of advanced technology are always expected to develop. The healthcare sector is also not untouched. Continuous efforts are being taken by the government to improve the hospital management system. The NextGen eHospital is a part of the digital India initiative for hospital management by designing a platform to keep up the efficient delivery of healthcare services. This platform is designed with integrated information technology. It helps to digitalize the hospital functions like patient registration and appointment, OPD & IPD management, laboratory services of the hospital, radiology services of the hospital, pharmacy, billing, etc. This records clinical documents and generates electronic health records. Finally, the standard data management achieves improvement in continuity of care. The platform provides access to monitor the real-time hospital activities. Accompanying benefits include reducing the paperwork and improving workflow efficiency and transparency in hospitals. All hospitals, including the AYUSH health care facility, have the potential to strengthen the digital health record and be able to deliver patient-centered healthcare. The aim of this article is to disseminate information regarding the Government’s initiatives for digital transformation in the healthcare system. The main emphasis is on the Government Digital India initiative and its implementation in health sector through the Next Gen e-Hospital platform for all hospitals including AYUSH health care facility.
